Stuart Scott 1965 - 2015

Today the world lost a one of a kind performer, a man that inspired, and a man that taught us what a true fighter looks like. Today Stuart Scott lost his 7 year battle against cancer but showed the world what living is all about.

Stuart Scott the broadcaster probably doesn’t come close to Stuart Scott the man. But for us who only had the privilege of seeing him through Sports Center and the other ESPN shows, he was a gift. He was the reason that I would wake up early in high school to watch sports center. He made watching highlight clips fun and enjoyable even for the worse of sports using catchphrases like “Boo-Yah” and “Cooler than the other side of the pillow”. He is the reason today that I have a difficult time watching ESPN without him on the air. And If you judged a person from all the people they touched and inspired, then we can all say that Stuart Scott was one of the greats. Yes we all were spoiled.

Finally I leave you with this

When you die, that does not mean you lose to cancer, You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and in the manner in which you live. So live, live, fight like hell. And when you get too tired, [lie] down, rest and let someone else fight for you.” - Stuart Scott
